WOMEN AND POLITICAL DECISION-MAKING IN IRAQ AND THE UAE (A COMPARATIVE STUDY)

Background: The study aimed to identify the reality of women in both Iraq and the United Arab Emirates, with mentioning the most prominent obstacles to the performance of women's roles in an attempt to work on empowering their abilities, especially in the field of decision-making, towards social integration .Methodology: The research plan relied on dividing the topic into two sections, the first concerned with presenting the political life of Iraqi women.The second topic reviewed the factors that motivated Emirati women to participate in political life through the jobs they held.The research followed the descriptive analytical approach in presenting the historical events, as these events were described according to their historical chronological sequence, and then an analysis was given according to the data that accompanied the event. Results: Political stability, government support, community awareness, education, political awareness, economic empowerment, and training are important factors in supporting the political participation of Arab women. Conclusion: Empowering women politically and enhancing their participation in political action is one of the manifestations of democratic societies, which in turn reflects the extent to which governments seek to enhance women's participation.
