THE ROLE OF THE WOMEN IN RELIGIOUS LIFE - MESOPOTAMIA AS A MODEL

In every time and place, women were an important and influential element of society in general and human life in particular, and from ancient times to the present day. Important in the civilization of Mesopotamia in particular and the civilizations of the ancient world in general. Religion in the life of the ancient Iraqis constituted an important and major aspect that affected the various joints of human life. The ancient Iraqi thinker worked to put convincing explanations about existence and creation, as well as the phenomena of nature that had a positive and negative impact on his life and death. He worshiped and sanctified her, offered her offerings and vows, and built lofty temples, as she was not isolated from the male deity, but on the contrary, one of them complemented the other, whether at the level of the process of multiplying the deities or at the level of power and participation as an influential element in the process of creation. The female deity was side by side with the deity. The male, and among the influential and important deities, for example, but not limited to, the mother deity, as well as the deities of creation and childbirth, and the deities of the underworld, which will be dealt with in the subject of the study.
