MARRIAGE RITUALS IN THE FOLKLORE OF THE IRAQI JEWISH

The ritual of Jewish marriage in Iraq is a mirror of the religious teachings of Judaism and a reflection of the social environment in which Jews lived. Marriage is one of the most sacred of human and religious ties, which preserves the alleged purity of the Jews and the permanence of their offspring. The Jews of Iraq, if they follow their own traditions in relation to the customs of marriage, consider it a sacred bond. Marriage in Jewish law (halakhah) is the only way to fulfill the obligation "grow up and be more"
