HOUSING PROJECTS IN THE CITY OF BAGHDAD AND THEIR ROLE IN SOLVING THE HOUSING CRISIS
The study aimed at vertical construction pattern, which is one of the best methods stop the chaotic horizontal housing expansion, which reflects on the city of Baghdad many negatives and difficult problems. came to focus on the importance of vertical housing projects in the city and their role in solving the housing problem and the housing deficit, as well as revealing the locations and distribution of those housing complexes , housing indicators approved by the Ministry of Construction , Housing. their ability to solve. There was a clear discrepancy in the pattern of its distribution in the city, some of which are divergent, and some of them are concentrated and unorganized. the sense that there are complexes concentrated one side and not the other, where no balance in their spatial distribution and vary between social classes, but were limited certain groups and segments research included (14) municipal units within the borders of the capital, Baghdad, and found (23) residential complexes represented by government and private investment, The study found that the trend towards low-cost housing planning with (3-4) floors supports the owners of low and medium incomes. is an appropriate solution that limits the phenomenon of high prices for housing, which contributes to facing the increasing housing deficit. the increase in the number of floors for (4) reflected in the increase in cost per person, as it requires the availability of elevators, well maintenance services and services related to modern technologies in construction that result in high-priced building.
