ART AND ISLAMIC ARTS WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE ACTIVITIES AND WORKS OF EUROPEAN ORIENTALISTS
There are many fields of orientalist work, and the matter did not depend on what they wrote about the East and its civilization or talked about or what they have seen through their trips to East eras, but there is another type of Orientalist activity where Westerners interested in it, which is first to harness their artistic creations to express the East and its civilization, especially Islamic world, (Artistic paintings, vocalists). The phenomenon of Orientalism was born in European painting with the early Italian Renaissance, which began to grow and crystallize with the development of techniques and methods of European painting itself on the one hand, and the development of European knowledge of eastern artistic civilizations, especially the study of Islamic art and the arts of the ancient, medieval and modern East on the other hand. Art in Orientalist work has gone through two stages. The first Stage was before the Renaissance, that is, in the middle Ages, or during the time of the Islamic Crusader conflict represented by the Crusades and beyond. Islamic or obtaining information about the Orient through travelers, merchants, or those who were visiting the Orient, and upon their return to their countries, they saw their observations of their European counterparts, and through this, those who were fond of Orientalist art would receive their information and build their paintings and artistic ideas about the Orient through it. The second stage appeared after the radical changes and developments that occurred in Europe and transformations that occurred in all fields and Europe built its renaissance, as this was reflected in the field of scientific research and the perceptions and trends of thinkers, writers, researchers and the scientific and academic field in centers, associations and universities in Europe, and this matter was the reason for the occurrence of transformations And changes in the field of Orientalist work in all its aspects, and the most important in this aspect is Orientalist art and the work of Orientalist artists, which was a great impetus for the development of this aspect is the emergence of the colonial movement, which paved the way for Orientalists in general and Orientalist artists in particular to reach the East and opened doors for them And it made it easier for them to see what they had imagined about the East and the Islamic world in a realistic way, not only that, but it was easy for some of them.
