ART AND ISLAMIC ARTS WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE ACTIVITIES AND WORKS OF EUROPEAN ‎ORIENTALISTS

There are many fields of orientalist work, and the matter did not depend on what they wrote about the East ‎and its civilization or talked about or what they have seen through their trips to East eras, but there is another ‎type of Orientalist activity where Westerners interested in it, which is first to harness their artistic creations to ‎express the East and its civilization, especially Islamic world, (Artistic paintings, vocalists). The phenomenon of ‎Orientalism was born in European painting with the early Italian Renaissance, which began to grow and ‎crystallize with the development of techniques and methods of European painting itself on the one hand, and the ‎development of European knowledge of eastern artistic civilizations, especially the study of Islamic art and the ‎arts of the ancient, medieval and modern East on the other hand.‎ Art in Orientalist work has gone through two stages. The first Stage was before the Renaissance, that is, in ‎the middle Ages, or during the time of the Islamic Crusader conflict represented by the Crusades and beyond. ‎Islamic or obtaining information about the Orient through travelers, merchants, or those who were visiting the ‎Orient, and upon their return to their countries, they saw their observations of their European counterparts, and ‎through this, those who were fond of Orientalist art would receive their information and build their paintings and ‎artistic ideas about the Orient through it. The second stage appeared after the radical changes and developments ‎that occurred in Europe and transformations that occurred in all fields and Europe built its renaissance, as this ‎was reflected in the field of scientific research and the perceptions and trends of thinkers, writers, researchers ‎and the scientific and academic field in centers, associations and universities in Europe, and this matter was the ‎reason for the occurrence of transformations And changes in the field of Orientalist work in all its aspects, and ‎the most important in this aspect is Orientalist art and the work of Orientalist artists, which was a great impetus ‎for the development of this aspect is the emergence of the colonial movement, which paved the way for ‎Orientalists in general and Orientalist artists in particular to reach the East and opened doors for them And it ‎made it easier for them to see what they had imagined about the East and the Islamic world in a realistic way, ‎not only that, but it was easy for some of them‎‎.
