THE DIFFICULTIES OF DISTANCE LEARNING AS SEEN BY ARABIC TEACHERS IN THE SCHOOLS OF RAMALLAH UNDER THE CORONA PANDEMIC

This study seeks to explore the difficulties of applying the E-education in teaching Arabic in Ramallah’s schools. The qualitative analysis is used in this study. The case study includes ten Arabic teachers who were purposely selected for the sake of achieving the goals of the study. The tool, that is utilized here, is a direct interview which includes essay questions. The major questions/issues sprout from the major one; the difficulties in implementing E- learning programs, teacher’s training and assessing students skills in E-education. The study finds that the problems basicly relate to the technical devices and devices used in such kind of teaching and distance education, lack of teachers experiences in dealing effectively with the programs which require active communication with the students due to the teachers training which is mainly based on theoretical materials rather than the practical training. The problems of lackness in programs of teaching Arabic the problem having no clear assessing programs are discussed here in this study, too. The researcher recommends that the Ministry of Education and the curriculum centre are to work on designing curriculum which fit in with the E-learning and the Distance Education concerning teaching the Arabic language. In addition, the researcher believes that the teachers must be trained on programs that are specially designed for teaching the Arabic language.
