THE CONSTITUTIONAL REFORMS IN THE STATES OF ARAB GULF AND POLITICAL EFFECTS

The constitutional reforms in the states of Arab Gulf after gaining independence in a way or another are initial steps towards democracy, rule of law and establishing national institutions. However, these steps are not integrated as in the case of democratic systems that take democratic mechanisms into governance and society. The historical data imposed on the emergence of these states an additional burden on their rulers due to its geographical locations. So, the security concern has become one of the most prominent determinants of its political process. And any process of constitutional and political reforms will be limited, which influences the formation and harmonization of those states' domestic and foreign policy, the requirements of democracy, human rights, the peaceful alternation of power, and the building of the state of citizenship that becomes a feature for this age and new international order.
