EMPOWERING WOMEN TO ASSUME LEADERSHIP POSITION BETWEEN REALITY AND AMBITION “IRAQ AS A MODEL”

enhancing the status of women in society in various fields has become one of the important issues, whether politically, economically, or socially. Many countries have tended to raise the status of women in line with the international trend in achieving gender equality. Finding out the percentage of women in the legislative authority and the percentage of their assumption of leadership positions, whether administrative or administrative. Politically, it shows the true position of the realistic application of the principle of equality, and it is the best embodiment of the extent of women’s status in society. Despite the adoption of the Iraqi constitution of 2005 for the principle of legal equality and the principle of equal opportunities, we find the great gap between the text and the reality in empowering women politically. The practical reality of women assuming leadership positions is weak and almost non-existent in certain areas, whether that was before or after the 2005 constitution. Meeting the requirements of the international trend in empowering women does not require legislation on paper, but rather a real and effective application on the level of reality to reach the actual empowerment of women. By reaching decision-making positions or influential positions in decision-making, it raises their status socially and empowers them politically, and it is a real and realistic product of the principle of equality. Which is the basis and basis of rights.
