AN ANALYTICAL THEORETICAL APPROACH TO FACTORS INFLUENCING A CHILD’S ACADEMIC SUCCESS IN BASIC EDUCATION

Academic success is influenced by many factors from a variety of sources, including the student’s level of intelligence and ability, including the cultural level of the parents and the emotional and emotional atmosphere at home. Social, economic and educational factors also contribute significantly to school success or failure. In addition, individual and collective values play a key role in a student’s academic performance. The results revealed four main determinants of academic success: subjective determinants: mental intelligence and capacity, social determinants: the economic and cultural context of the family, school determinants: they refer to the characteristics of the teacher, the curriculum, the school climate and, finally, the determinants of value and refer to the value format of the student and the family, which acts as intermediate variables to influence school success. As a result, this study and its findings serve as recommendations to the student, family and educational decision-makers to take advantage of and double the chances of future success.
